EO has a 60-year history of developing innovative programs that support and enhance communities across Southwest Virginia and beyond.

You may know us from the Ignite Career Expo, Rural Summit, VQB5, or Ready Regions Southwest, to name a few. We research, pilot, and scale solutions to give communities more opportunities to thrive. Our body of work focuses on Education, Workforce Innovation, and Wellbeing.

Education

We collaborate with educators from the cradle-to-career to ensure that future generations receive high-quality care and education.

Workforce innovation

We collaborate with employers, schools, and community partners to build and support a robust, skilled workforce.

Wellness

We provide programs and services to support the social-emotional health and well-being of children, families, and organizations to help transform our communities.

Root Cause

Through our body of work, we focus on the root cause of issues so that:

  • children learn and grow in healthy environments,
  • employers and businesses run at their fullest potential, and
  • young families find good jobs with livable wages right here at home.

Cradle-to-Career

EO works along a cradle-to-career continuum that supports early childhood care and education, kindergarten readiness, reading proficiency, career discovery and exploration, internships, professional development, and early career job placement. We prioritize data-informed solutions that leverage community listening and cross-sector convening to build innovative and sustainable social change.

EO currently provides programs in the counties of Bland, Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Lee, Montgomery, Pulaski, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, and Wythe, and the cities of Bristol, Galax, Norton, and Radford. Our programs and initiatives have a solid track record of success, and demand outside these localities is increasing.

WHAT DOES "EO" MEAN?

EO is Latin for “go,” which represents how we work. We are driven by action. We challenge the status quo, turning big ideas into solutions that increase the quality of life within our community.

EO is also the abbreviation for Endless Opportunity, our hope for the region. We work hard to ensure everyone in our region has the opportunities needed to thrive.
