For Students
EO's Ignite Student Internship
An internship allows you to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional environment. An EO Ignite Internship will help you gain real-work experience, learn and develop soft skills, and begin to build your network of professional contacts. Internships are short-term, meaning they will only last during the summer or a semester.

Better than a Summer Job
Employees of local organizations will mentor students who participate in the Ignite Internships. Most will be on-site working daily with you so that you can experience what it is like to perform job duties and be in the organization's culture. Internship opportunities are in a variety of industry sectors, which include businesses such as CGI Federal, King General Contractors, and Abingdon Health & Rehab, to name a few.

Local Employers + Resume Boost
An EO Ignite Internship connects current coursework to careers so that you gain valuable work experience in a field that interests you. When internship experience is captured on a resume, it allows your abilities and talents to be showcased to future employers, making you more marketable for hiring opportunities. Finally, an internship provides the opportunity to develop a professional network of contacts that will be beneficial in the future.

EO Ignite Internships FAQs
Each internship opportunity is different; however, all students will complete 82 hours throughout the summer. The organization and students will work together to create their schedules.
Eligibility requirements may be different for some organizations, but the basic requirements are:
- 16 years of age or older by June 1, 2025
- Reliable transportation
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Available to complete 82 hours over the summer (June and July)
- Selected a Career Path in MajorClarity
Before applying, students must complete their resume and cover letter using the MajorClarity platform. On the MajorClarity menu, on the left, select Resume Builder and follow the tabs to completion. At the bottom of Resume Builder is a section labeled Cover Letters. Click Add New Cover Letter to create one. Once the resume and cover letter are created, the PDF can be downloaded for your application. In addition, students should have two (2) teacher recommendation forms completed to submit.
Students are paid by the organization where they will work (not EO Companies). Students will follow the same pay structure as the regular employees.
