Career Commons
Career Commons is a workforce exploration center housed in EO's Regional Workforce and Child Development Hub. It is open year-round and includes in-class curricula to help K-12 students learn about and connect with local employers. Through school visits, field trips, camps, and special events, 30,000 students have the opportunity to visit the center annually.
Schools can attend in smaller groups and have longer visits at the career simulation and exploration facility. The experience is organized to keep students engaged and learning from the time they arrive until they depart.
Activities and curriculum will align with the Virginia Department of Education’s 17 career clusters and help spur interest in manufacturing and STEM jobs.
