Southwest Virginia childcare providers tackle gaps with EO business challenge

ABINGDON, Va. (WCYB) — In a recent Southwest Virginia Childcare Landscape Report, almost half of surveyed businesses experience challenges hiring and retaining staff due to a lack of childcare access.

That's according to EO -- a Virginia-based 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to research, pilot and scale innovative solutions so that communities can thrive.

A special childcare business challenge, hosted by EO, was aimed at strengthening its network of more than 200 existing childcare providers in Southwest Virginia. It was a 6-week challenge -- consisting of 7 participants, and resulting in three winners.
