Community Schools Conference works to better needs of students and families in Virginia

"The United Way of Southwest Virginia hosted Virginia's inaugural community schools conference. It centered around Community Schools, a nationwide initiative seeking to make public elementary or secondary schools partner with community organizations.

The goal is to use additional staff to meet the educational, physical and emotional needs of students, their families and the community."
