Overview
Project Health is a Workforce Innovation initiative led by EO Companies, designed to provide students with opportunities in high-demand healthcare jobs within Southwest Virginia (SWVA). Through collaboration with community partners, students will be connected to high-quality, family-sustaining careers while benefiting from personal development opportunities such as job shadowing, internships, educational growth, job placement, and career advancement in the healthcare sector.

Goals
- Introduce students and young individuals to healthcare career opportunities in their community.
- Connect students to area business, industry, and community partners offering healthcare careers with livable wages.
- Provide a structured career pathway guide to help students and young individuals succeed in their healthcare journey.
- Strengthen the region’s healthcare talent pipeline.

Participant Criteria
- Open to individuals aged 14 - 24 years old.
- Must have an interest in entering or advancing in the healthcare sector.
- Must reside in one of the following locations: Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, or Wise County, or the City of Norton.
EO Companies’ Role
- Development of a regional healthcare career map.
- Deliver comprehensive career development services for enrolled participants.
- Facilitate access to training programs and credential attainment.
- Provide and connect to skills training and career advancement services for long-term success.
- Empower young individuals with the tools, resources, and connections necessary to thrive in the healthcare industry of Southwest Virginia.

Select participants may be eligible for funding to help with childcare expenses, transportation, and other support services.
No, Project Health will coordinate with Ballad Health, Buchanan General, and other healthcare providers as we build out this program.
Project Health and participating partners will offer courses and services on how to prepare your resume, suggestions for networking, interview tips, and building your employment portfolio.
Yes, if you are participating in the program and making satisfactory progress, Project Health will assist with credentialling costs.
There will be various modes of communication, email, survey, etc. to support you and check on your progress.
No, Project Health understands that life circumstances can change our path; we will work with you as you exit the program and discuss your options.
