The purpose of this website is to give information about Swedish cultural objects that are prohibited to export. Since 1927 Sweden has had an act preventing old cultural objects of great importance for the cultural heritage from being taken or sent out of the country. Anyone who wishes to take Swedish or foreign cultural goods out of Sweden shall have a permit for the export if the goods are of the kind referred to in the Swedish law.

This web site is a test location to show and give information about the Swedish law preventing export of cultural goods. At present, only items denied export-license from year 2000 by Nordiska museet are on view.
